Overview

PotmacWave Consulting is currently looking for a Junior Analyst to join our team for our Federal Government Client in Washington, DC!!

Responsibilities

  • Provide acquisition and procurement management support to a government client in a close team environment.
  • Support the development of purchase requests, reconciliations, account closures, and the planning and preparation of other procurement and services contract actions.
  • Apply knowledge of DHS procurement process to support clients and other stakeholders in the analysis and improvement of procurement procedures.
  • Support cost planning development initiatives and analyze the execution of agency funds in compliance with DHS appropriation law.
  • Coordinate funding requirements with internal and external clients and draft funding documents while analyzing, tracking, and reporting commitment, obligation, and expenditure data.
  • Identify problems and recommend solutions pertaining to procurement procedures and financial execution.
  • Consolidate data for the presentation of execution status and financial summary overview.
  • Use guidance from the team lead to develop procurement initiation documentation, including RFQs, SOWs, performance specifications, and requested memoranda that most effectively meet program needs in accordance with cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with the team lead and work with other functional areas to develop and execute long-term comprehensive strategic procurement strategies.
  • Provide on-time, high quality deliverables using team resources and self-editing, including adjusting quickly to ambiguous work and client consulting situations.
  • Foster collaboration through soliciting and providing feedback to the team, demonstrating active listening expertise, and raising challenges and concerns appropriately. 


Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience with financial analysis or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Knowledge of government (in particular DHS) acquisition and procurement processes and procedures
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance (I think we just need a public trust on this engagement)
  • Familiarity with DHS’s PRISM (Procurement Request Information System) preferred
  • Familiarity with DHS’s FFMS (Federal Financial Management System) preferred
  • BA or BS degree
  • Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
