Overview

PotomacWave Consulting is seeking an experienced and hands-on Logistics Analyst in Alexandria, VA with relevant Department of Homeland Security or Department of Defense logistics and/or electronics experience to join a team that will be tasked on a high priority, fast-paced effort with support activities related to personal property and inventory management support services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for a variety of property and inventory management activities with a focus on electronics materiel.
  • Maintain financial accountability and configuration management for Operating Materials and Supplies (OM&S) and Higher Level Assembly (HLA) parts in compliance with DHS standards.
  • Provide various Product Line (PL) support include, but not limited to, issuing & receiving, maintaining project information, procurement of parts, tracking of incoming shipments, label parts with barcodes and database management.
  • Support inventory, provisioning, allowancing, replenishment and data entry activities into systems such as the Naval and Electronics Supply Support System (NESSS), Oracle, and Fleet Logistics Support (FLS) systems.
  • Provide support for personal property activities to include compiling valuation packages and data entry into the Oracle-Fixed Asset Module (FAM) system.
  • Assist in investigating, resolving, documenting and providing recommendation for property and inventory management discrepancies including review, analysis, and audit of records, Quality Deficiency Report (QDR), Supply Deficiency Report (SDR), transactions, and other resolutions.
  • Develop and/or maintain Excel spreadsheets for documentation, tracking, status updates, and reporting of activity.
  • Provide technical writing support in the review, revision, and composition of desk guides, process guides, property manuals, and other technical documents.
  • Assist in other areas as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience with logistics program activities including property and/or inventory management with focus on electronic and technology systems and components.
  • Practical, hands-on experience with property and inventory management to include data entry.
  • Experience with relevant computerized supply, inventory, and maintenance management systems like Naval and Electronics Supply Support System (NESSS), Aviation Logistics Management Information System (ALMIS), and Fleet Logistics System (FLS).
  • Knowledge of Coast Guard financial systems including Core Accounting Systems (CAS) and Financial Procurement Desktop (FPD) preferable. Knowledge of any USCG, Navy, TSA or similar financial systems software
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior personnel.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Minimum of Six to eight (6-8) years of logistical management, facilities analysis, and inventory control or relevant experience within DHS

 

Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred, ideally in the logistics management or related field.  An additional four years of experience can be substituted for a BA/BS degree.
