    PotomacWave is currently seeking an Executive Assistant Support Specialist to support our team in Crystal City, VA!


    As an Executive Assistant at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Infrastructure Security Compliance Division, you will draw on your passion to enable success and your drive to make an impact on Senior Level Executives’ decisions, actions, and awareness of issues that are critical to the National Security of the country.

    Your experience, energy, and positive attitude will enable you to deliver world class customer service in a fast-paced, Front Office environment.   



    • Be very comfortable using Microsoft (MS) Office Suite programs, to include:  MS Outlook, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel (basic knowledge).  Possess a working knowledge of SharePoint, particularly how to upload documents to an existing SharePoint site and how to retrieve or find selected documents within an existing SharePoint site. 
    • Manage schedules of the Director and Deputy Director of the Division; identify scheduling conflicts and develop scheduling solutions to any meeting conflicts.
    • Come to the position with previous experience supporting Senior Level Executives in a fast-paced work environment.  Be able to interact with and effectively communicate, in writing and verbally, with office staff members at all levels from junior support staff levels up to Senior Executive Service leadership levels. 
    • Identify and implement client communication reporting needs.  Compile customized routine and ad hoc reports as required.
    • Handle Front Office calls and emails and ensure that accurate information is relayed to appropriate senior leaders and supporting staff members in a timely manner.
    • Assist the Communications Team with preparation of Read Ahead documents and meeting materials and ensure Senior Level Executives are provided these materials in advance of their meetings.
    • Consistently demonstrate keen attention to detail.
    • Take the initiative and demonstrate a self-starting bias toward action.


    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 3+ years of related experience
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
    • Impeccable organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
    • Current DHS NPPD Suitability
    • Previous experience using or familiarity with the Concur Government Edition (CGE) Travel System
    • Previous experience using or familiarity with the DHS ExecSec Task Tracker (ESTT)
    • Previous experience working in an Executive Secretariat environment
