    PotomacWave is currently seeking a Billing Accountant to join our corporate team in Alexandria, VA for a position with excellent growth potential.  We are looking for a high-energy candidate with impeccable attention to detail and time management skills to assist our accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent grad with an Accounting degree looking to gain experience!

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include generating all billing, expense reconciliations, accurately entering invoices into QuickBooks, updating and managing receivable schedules and reports, assist with month end close and other duties as assigned. The Billing Accountant will report and work directly with the corporate Controller, as well as interact with all members of the accounting team.  You will learn a wide range of accounting regulations and standards pertaining to government contract accounting and various other accounting functions. 

     

    Qualifications

    • 1- 2 years of job related experience.
    • Proficient with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Basic understanding of government contracting.
    • Demonstrates strong organization skills and attention to detail.
    • Self-motivated, can establish priorities; meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and clients in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure; being proactive, resourceful and efficient; and, maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
    • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to work independently and with a team
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks.

     

    Education/Certifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree
