    PotomacWave Consulting has an exciting new opportunity working as a Defense Travel System Specialist at Fort Belvoir, VA! Come join our team!!

    Responsibilities

    • Proven experience working in an office environment with senior leadership serving in grades of SES/DISL or at the Flag Officer Level.,
    • Review travel authorizations and vouchers to ensure compliance with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR)
    • Provide subject matter expertise to the Approving Official to identify and resolve travel issues.
    • Generate and review weekly, the unsubmitted voucher report and provide assistance.
    • Generate and review monthly, the Approved Status Report and provide assistance with clearing the rejects and follow-up.
    • Review quarterly, 100% of the DTS user profiles to ensure proper organizational / group access, authorized permission levels and profile accuracy.
    • Review quarterly, 10% of DTS travel vouchers for compliance of financial management, JTR and compliance tools (CT).
    • Provide immediate, on-site necessary user and approving official training to ensure that all TDY travel follows DoD and or the Army’s travel policy. Training shall focus on correcting all deficiencies identified during reviews and assessments.

    Qualifications

    • Must be an Intermediate DTS/Travel Analyst
    • You must have at minimum of 5 years of experience working in government travel using DTS and running periodic reports from DTS to effectively manage program
    • You will have experience in assessing command travel programs in accordance with federal regulations and providing immediate training in all aspects of DTS/travel
    • Experience and Knowledge of DOD travel procedures
    • Proficient in using Defense Travel System (DTS)
    • Must have knowledge in DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) policies and procedures
    • DTS experience should include DTS travel documents (authorizations and vouchers), cancellation procedures, constructed travel, FY crossover, Itinerary changes, City Pair program, Routing lists, Flat Rate TDY.
