  • Overview

    PotomacWave Consulting is looking for a highly motivated individual needed to support the USCG Acquisition Internal Controls Program. The candiate must be proficient will OMB A-123, FMFIA and all applicable financial regulations surrounding internal environments in the government. The postition includes assisting the Aquisition Directorate (CG-9) managing internal controls activities in accordance with OMB Circular A-123 guidance.  Review financial transactions and assist in the development and implementation of Corrective Action Plans (CAP) and Mission Action Plans (MAP) to address material weakness in internal controls.


    • Support the coordination of ICOOP assessment activities including business process documentation updates, test of design (TOD) and test of operating effectiveness (TOE) testing, and deficiency analysis with stakeholders from eight offices within the acquisition component. 
    • Conduct complete assessment of CG-9’s current policy and procedures to identify effective internal controls and gap areas that pose a risk to the proper execution of the process. 
    • Support the establishment of an Internal Controls Program for the Head of Contracting
    • (HCA) CG-91, which had been selected by the USCG Commandant as a new assessment element required to submit an Statement of Assurance separate from the CG-9 directorate.
    • Assist with the preparation and submission of the CG-9 and CG-91 SOA including all Internal Controls Program documentation for each assessable element that supports the attestation of the state of the organization’s Internal Controls Program Provided recommendations for operational improvements to address findings from the organizational assessment.
