  • Overview

    The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for the preparation of commercial and government billings, review of the AR Aging report, assisting in the collection of company invoices, maintaining project billing data in the accounting system, set up projects within accounting and timekeeping systems, revenue forecasting and other ad hoc duties as assigned.


    • Prepare billing package preparation in accordance with contract and company billing requirements.
    • Prepares and maintains account records and billing data.
    • Proactively identify billing issues and with Controller and ensures timely and accurate resolution.
    • Support preparation of monthly A/R account reconciliations
    • Research and analyze open billing register and unbilled A/R
    • Monitor activity for non-billable charges to review with Controller
    • Prepare status report monthly to support accounting close.
    • Support project set up in accounting and timekeeping systems, including new tasks, modifications and change orders.
    • Support in new or modifications to project set-up to ensure that billing and revenues are calculated in accordance with contract terms and accounting requirements.
    • Support the preparation of monthly revenue and billing reports.
    • Support other accounting departments, as directed.
    • Other projects as assigned


    • Bachelors degree preferred
    • 4+ years of billing experience required.
    • 2+ years of experience working for a defense contractor required. Experience with all contract types preferred including FFP and T&M.
    • Familiar with FAR and DFARs
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks
    • Proficient with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Demonstrates strong organization skills and attention to detail
    • Self-motivated, can establish priorities; meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and clients in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure; being proactive, resourceful and efficient; and, maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
    • Self-motivated ability to perform well in a high pace, fast changing work environment.
    • Flexibility and maturity are a must
