    PotomacWave Consulting is currently looking for a Program Support Specialist/Public-Safety Emergency Communications to join our DHS Team in Arlington, VA (Ballston)! 


    • Support public safety, emergency communications, and technical, policy, and strategic analyses for the client's federal, state, local, and tribal public safety emergency communications coordination mission.
    • Utilize your expertise in consulting, public safety, and emergency communications systems to:
      • Interact with clients and stakeholders
      • Facilitate data collection and analyses
      • Support technical assessments of public safety communications technologies in the emergency communications ecosystem.
      • Draft reports on emergency communications technology, including operability, interoperability, resiliency, Cybersecurity
    • Develop and implement meeting strategy, discussion topics, coordinating with presenters, capturing meeting minutes, and tracking action items.
    • Work with Front Office to design agenda, develop materials, plan logistics, facilitate, provide knowledge capture, develop meeting report, and track actions for strategy offsite sessions
    • Develop internal messaging, data visualizations, graphics, and tools in support of organizational development and leadership initiatives.
    • Track progress of organizational development and leadership initiatives utilizing the Product Development Process; report-out on progress to applicable audience.
    • Support information gathering, research and analysis, and messaging and materials development to prepare for meetings and engagements.
    • Develop presentations and engagement materials, including but not limited to, strategic messaging, content, talking points, data visualizations, and graphics
    • Develop messaging, data visualizations, graphics, and supporting materials for internal strategic communications coming from the Front Office.
    • Complete ad hoc governance, organizational development, program management, and strategic messaging initiatives as requested


    • Bachelor’s degree or higher required
    • 3-5 years of emergency communications experience in areas such as interoperable communications, alert / warning systems, 911/PSAP, wireless communications
    • Familiarity with FEMA and/or other Federal Government agency and emergency communications process / procedures
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Highly organized and adept at managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously at a high standard in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    • Adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and able to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high quality work products
    • DHS Suitability a plus
    • Must be a US Citizen
